Got a 42mm GPS+cellular for $298. If battery is good, it's an insane deal given that new one is $540 after taxes.

When we receive ours, is there any way to know if it's basically brand-new and therefore eligible for apple care without turning it on? I bought a new one for $310 last night, then bought this $225 used deal this morning.
