Does not need to be plugged into the dock to work, but is recommended as the controller stand charges it as well. The stand has a slot for the USB RF dongle (reduced latency over Bluetooth) and will pass through the signal over the USB cable. If you use this on Switch/Switch 2, remember to enable the "Pro Controller Wired Communication" setting as some 3rd party controllers will not work without it.
You can sync multiple controllers to PC, even if they are the exact same type. Each one will appear as a unique controller in Control Panel. You'll just have to assign the controllers properly in the game you are playing. Steam handles them flawlessly, but you may need to select the controller manually in emulators and such.
Same as the Ultimate controllers, but slightly behind the Ultimate 2. Ultimate 2 uses TMR sticks, so they have better resolution (can detect finer movements) and lower power consumption.

The GameSir is nice because you can remove the face plate and swap the buttons around to mimic the Xbox layout (ABXY) or Nintendo layout (BAYX). The 8bitdo controllers don't and you have to buy the specific version for the layout you want.

Super Nova vs Ultimate 2:

Joystick: SN has Hall-effect vs U2 has TMR (more precise), both reduce eliminate drift but TMR is more precise
Buttons: U2 has L4/R4, SN doesn't
Support: SN supports Windows, IOS, Android (via BT), wired usb-c and Switch. U2 supports Windows, wired usb-c and Android (via BT)
Performance: U2 has better latency. Both have same polling.
Ergonomics: U2 has a slightly different shape, SN is closer to XBox controller.

Great controller at $50 - tremendous deal at $30. Only drawback is d-pad is touchy.

I use this with my switch 2, plug it into the dock and works perfectly. Great buy!

For clarity, does this need to be plugged into the Switch 2 dock for it to work or does it work wirelessly?

Anyone have experience running multiple Gamesir wireless controllers on PC? I have a Tarantula Pro and need a second controller for co-op stuff.

Too bad the other color schemes aren't on sale. Not a fan of the red/white. For Switch 2, I already have a couple of original Pro controllers, so that should hold me over until the Pro 2 controllers go on sale.

I have the Wukong 8bitdo and hate the triggers on it, it doesn't have a full range of motion, feels like built in trigger stops, does this controller have better triggers?
