Man, this board used to be such an unobtainium when it got released and some time after. One of just a few x870e boards with non-retarded split in the cpu lanes. Then the reports started coming in of them burning the cpu's and it's been downhill ever since.

Recent BIOS updates supposedly fix the overvolting issues with Ryzen cpus. Will roll the dice and pair this with a 9900x3d. No risk, no reward!

Check r/asrock. Even after the update there are still reports of issues. Seems to be more of a hardware issue at this point.

Thanks, I will take a look. A hardware issue would obviously be very very bad.

So what's the deal with them and X3d chips? Why this board in particular?

Am running this board with a 9700X, chose it for the SSD lane configuration. Buyer beware, there were some driver issues with the onboard WiFi, had to find updated drivers online instead of using the ones from ASRock. WiFi worked great after that tho.

The Taichi with 1tb SSD seems like a good upgrade from this one, no?

I remember this board was hard to find cause is the best value perfomancr board out. Amazin was selling this at $500 and people were still buying them. Now it seems no one wants it cause it might burn your cpu lol

I have an assrock b650e itx and my 9800x3d is still working. Maybe because I'm in a 9L case so I have to run it in eco mode.
