For anyone considering the $319 9600x bundle from Micro Center, you can actually make a cheaper bundle through Newegg and either Micro Center or Amazon. Newegg has the ASUS TUF B650M-E board for $139 and it includes a stick of 16GB RAM that is better than the RAM in the MC bundle. Pick up the 9600x from either Micro Center or Amazon, and you have a better bundle for slightly cheaper (that ships to you if you go the Amazon route). Bonus: adding an extra stick of RAM on Newegg is cheaper than adding the extra stick of RAM on Micro Center.

I looked at the MB it has DP port, does this CPU have IGU built in?

For Amazon, I'm getting July 28 delivery date. I don't have any MC stores near me…

not really a great deal at all. you can get a 265kf for 229 and a b860 board for 150. try loading a 6 core chip up with a few programs running at once and see how badly it lags. 265k has 8 p cores, 12 e cores and you can just task load those things and game at the same time without reducing performance. if someone is JUST a gamer the x3d chips are the go to but in no real scenario does this deal make sense for anyone with what's available

eh no disrespect but i disagree. The 9600x right now is 150 or 156 from Amazon and even cheaper when you factor in 10% cash back (this is boosted right now) using an Amazon card. The intel chip you're talking about is 229 (from your post) or realistically 285-300 as that's what I'm seeing online at the moment. you're comparing apples to oranges. they're not in the same price range. for 95% of users a 6 core is going to be fine. makes no sense to pay roughly $100+ more for something you're not going to need. even at the 229 price you're quoting it still makes no sense to pay $80 more for something people don't need. i don't go anywhere even close to max cpu usage and most people don't either. i'm on a 8 core right now and I typically stay at 8-15% usage. i can easily move down to 6 cores and be just fine.

most people don't have a MC near them. and, i already addressed this. even with the 229 price it still doesn't make sense for most people. you could save $80 and get you some ram instead.

As of now, DDR4 is more expensive than DDR5.
May be it is time to give up AM4 and move on to AM5.
