I could care less about the DC cinematic universe but the DC Animated Universe has quality and real treasures if you're into that kind of stuff.
These two animated Superman movies enjoy a special place in my heart as I saw them in an actual theater. It was a smaller theater doing a promo. A sort of double feature (so I figured 2 movies for the price of one) and I had just moved 360 miles away for a new job. My subconscious was crying, begging for, needing some sort of "comfort movie" to feel stabilized in a new environment.
This was just what the doctor ordered and I remember feeling much more myself when I left the theater.
The first movie is better than the second, in my opinion, but you'll want both for the closure/resolution. 5 bucks, is a solid deal for about 3 hours of animated mayhem.
