Same as the $17.99 -$2 coupon they started Prime Day with couple days ago. Although checking now it's down to $14.99 so still a historical low as per CCC!

I like this movie, but it did not hold up well on a rewatch IMO. but the first watch through, in a pitch black room, was awesome.

I unfortunately agree and I am a fan of Robert Eggers' other works. This is my least favorite of his. Besides the costumes & visuals the pacing and delivery just seems off & lackluster. It doesn't compare favorably to Coppola, Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Eggers made one good film a decade ago, The Witch, and briefly became the darling of mainstream Hollywood, throwing loads of money at him to make The Northman (i.e., 300 v2), then this garbage. The Lighthouse was an experiment in-between that everyone had to pretend they liked. Lucky guy while it lasted. Now he should just start an artisanal chocolate boutique in Brooklyn for wealthy hipsters and call it a day.

Eggers' original cut was boring enough I thought, but now they put out an extended cut? (with extended boredom?)
So I checked IMDB and it says that 4 minutes of new footage was added: 2 new scenes, plus 2 scenes that were lengthened. No thanks, ain't worth it.
