Seems like a no-brainer if you're in the market for a Vitamix.

Amazon has the Renewed Explorian for $265.95 right now and that only includes a 90-day warranty.

This Woot deal gives you the Venturist Pro, also refurbished, but with a full 5-year warranty and the same 64oz container... for $30 less

I have the analog one (no display) over 5 years and the last was over 25, I would be very careful about this one because it has a digital output/timer, hence a computer board, hence it will break before the blender ever does. IMHO if you are going to buy a vitamix go old skool and low tech.
I have learned that electronics are the enemy of mechanical devices. New appliances, good luck finding boards for them in 5 years.

Do the refurbished ones come with new containers and just refurbished motors or are the containers used as well?

I was tempted to pick this up but ultimately went for the $350 5200 at Amazon. It's the legacy series so I'm hoping that means a longer lifespan... plus it's a 7 year warranty compared to 5 years for this Woot product.

And most importantly, the 5200 has the narrower 64 ounce jar which apparently blends smaller amounts better which is primarily what I'll be using it for (single serve smoothies).

Some of the reviews for this on Costco aren't great and the 5200 is the tried and proven Vitamix so I think it's worth the premium (plus I got 10% cashback via Visa Prime offer).

Placed order of a new venturist pro yesterday. Compared with Propel 750 that's on sale for 380 on Amazon prime day deal, this blender has same motor power, metal base, 2lbs heavier, and additional safety feature and 10 year warranty. Not sure how Costco are able to sell this blender for this much

Wide/short 64oz container makes 16oz (and probably much less, haven't tried) smoothie beautifully. I think issue might be with very small amounts (maybe 4-6oz) for sauces. I haven't seen vid or read of anyone actually testing this and providing both volume (i.e. oz.) or blend time or blend quality comparisons with smaller blend volumes (and different types of ingredient mixes) between the tall and short containers.

I'm sure 5200 is fantastic, all Vitamix blenders should last very long time, and do offer great performance.

Personally I have trouble paying so much for blender, have had Explorian 320 refurbished for 5 years which has been great ($150 on Amazon), also had someone buy me Venturist V1200 refurb when was $200 (the adjustable auto-off timer, elapsed blend-time display, bespoke built-in "soup" program, and fun Bluetooth which works with both Vitamix app programs and my Perfect smart-scale/apps (x3)/recipes is neat - but mine's still in box as extra for future use.)

Blade assembly *may* be pre-owned, container shell, lid, tamper (and possibly motor base plastic housing) will be new. Info readily available online, and Vitamix website.

90-day RETURN/REFUND POLICY on Amazon Certified (or whatever called) item. Unit has Vitamix Refurbished warranty, ranges 3-5 years usually (may be longer on some models).

Certain credit cards do indeed extend warranty on "manufacturer refurbished" items, usually adds 1-2 years and/or doubled to a max-total/max-additional, READ CREDIT CARD EXTENDED WARRANTY VERBIAGE VERY CAREFULLY (obtain updated "guide to benefits"), question of refurbished coverage may be unclear so can contact card issuer/benefits administrator for clarification (in writing obviously best).

Your "analog one" has digital electronics/PCB in it, too, and this particular Venturist Pro model is effectively just as "analog", with its all-physical controls. The display is VFD type that typically has VERY long life (easily decades) and further ONLY functions as elapsed-time display, so even if display dies the entirety of blender still functions. (It's a shame the programmable auto-off timer feature/buttons from Venturist V1200 were removed on this "Pro" model - as well as the fun Bluetooth connectivity for use with all Vitamix app programs - far more flexible than the few built-in programs on Vitamix models costing hundreds more, but truth be told, ALL programs are unnecessary...)
