The hints to what's going on here are the labels "2023" and "OE Packaged"
In cases like this, the most likely scenario:

A bike manufacturer specced 2023 forks for use on their complete bikes
They've switched to a newer model for for their current spec
They sold off the excess inventory of older forks to Jensen at a big discount
From a end-user perspective, the main difference is the box they come in may be less fancy. Also possible that the installation manual needs to be downloaded instead of coming in the box.

Why such big discounts? What's wrong with them? What's the catch?

So I could be wrong, but when I looked into this awhile back, it looks like this SID is the model that needs a remote lockout, which is not included.

So add another $50-80 on top of this price for the remote. Still a really solid deal.

Nice catch! Yeah not necessarily a deal-breaker in my case as this is going on my son's racing bike and remote lockout might be "nice to have" anyway.

Well... i may as well get the 299 1. I need a fork as my is worn out. I do not have remote lockou and will have to buy the parts for it.

Yep, that gave me pause too before purchasing, but for such a low travel distance on a hardtail cx bike I'll probably be perfectly content leaving lockout off all the time, and if I ever change my mind, adding the remote is not too expensive (and handy to have remote control of this).

Yep, you nailed it. When I was researching I read that sid sl select+ is normally only oe on bikes rather than a standalone product and is very similar (aside from a few extra grams heavier) than sid sl ultimate. Someone correct me if that's wrong as I am far from an expert.

The SID is a really good deal, but be aware that it's only got 110mm of travel. I believe RS makes the SID in 110 and 120 mm, but 'm not sure if this model can be adjusted up to 120mm, which would be ideal for many XC bikes. A lot of MTB forks can be adjusted by tweaking the internals.

SIDs are not historically super comfy/plush because they're race forks. They used to be really flexy (like a noodle), but I'm not sure if that's still the case. Also, I'd personally never use a lockout on a short travel fork, but some riders do.

Good prices, though. OE parts are great for the money. I never need the fancy retail packaging anyway, it gets tossed out.

probably not. geometry would get messed up and it's likely your 26" wheels are on a different axle standard than these

The 120mm SID uses 35mm stanchions. This one comes with 32mm.
