This deal was posted a few weeks ago at 550.00 but now it's dropped to 459.00 through Costco direct online. Really want to pull the trigger. I had a 65TCL Q5 that broke in a move recently and that was 6 years old. This has to be an upgrade and the price for a 75" at 459.00 with the warranty.

2 to 3 years ago, none of us had dimming on our TVs. For the most of us this TV will be fine. Whether you're watching TV or playing games. $459 for a qled TV is a crazy deal. I wish it was a $85-in then I would be all over it.

Local dimming makes a WORLD of difference, just like if you live in cold state, seat warmers make ALL the difference.

I have a TCL 4 series and TCL 5 series. I highly suggest 5 or higher series because of the local dimming and much better colors. I'm not positive of this series but opt for the local dimming or mini led

edit:

The TCL Q7 features a vibrant panel with mini-LED backlighting for better contrast, while the TCL 5-Series features quantum dots for a wider color gamut.

A few years ago TCL rebranded their TVs. The Q5's and Q6's were their premium TVs and damn good ones for the price. NOW a Q6 is a pretty decent tv but near the bottom of their product line. This is a Q7 so it should be solid for sure but do not think it's better than a Q5 or a Q6 from a few years back. I do think its price of $460 makes it's a good deal but not a steal.

This was a crazy deal a few years ago, but technology progresses. Also, although local dimming has only recently become common on budget TV's, local dimming has been a common feature on midrange TV's for nearly 20 years now. Local dimming is absolutely necessary for true HDR, and it makes a massive difference in the viewing experience. For barely a few bucks more, you can find TV's with local dimming, so I see no point in getting this TV unless it's in a guest room, basement, etc that rarely gets used.
