Renogy is a good name but their inverters are on the physically larger size of comparable power inverters. They have a good reputation of being very efficient but if you need more than a 1000 watts, this is obviously a bad choice. Simply saying this is a superior inverter without further details is kinda inaccurate. Consider this. If you are going to build your own solar generator/power station, a 1000 watt inverter would be on the smaller end on what even medium-sized power stations are offering these days. 1500 to 2000 watt inverters are pretty common on even the mid range size models. 1000 watts isn't enough to toast bread, use a hot water kettle, brew a cup of coffee or use a regular size microwave. it's only about 65% of the power you can expect from a home AC outlet.

i own this, known bug this model doesn't work with the remote switch it comes with, you can switch it off and on with it but no data to the screen. having said that it works great for my light duty purposes, and i appreciate it being RFI quiet as many of these are very noisy, making this perfect for ham radio nerds

what are some applications for 1kw inverters? seems like it would be a bit weak for an RV since cooktops, coffee pots, hair dryers would exceed the load.
