Not sure if this will change your mind, but to answer your question, these don't work like traditional earplugs that just block sound by creating a barrier in your ear, making everything sound muffled. They function more like a volume control, reducing loudness without significantly affecting clarity. So at events like concerts, you can still enjoy the experience without compromising the sound quality.

Hmm, got some Eargasms during the sale and they seem OK but having a hard time getting a good seal even with buying the large shells.Might give these a try but I do with they offered XL tips for my freak head.

I've used Eargasms for years after having them recommended by several musician friends, and as an ex-sound engineer, I think they do a great job of volume control while maintaining fidelity. At a recent show, I thought , "Hey, the mix on this song is especially good," completely forgetting I had earbuds in. I also think the overall sound in most small and medium venues suffers for the amount of volume they push, but that's a whole other conversation. Big Grin

Eargasms can routinely be had on Woot for $20-25.

I've never tried these, but it sounds like they attempt to do the same thing, and everyone has different ears and brains, so one might work better for someone than the other. Just make sure you use some form of ear protection at concerts.

Agreed, I always tell people to use hearing protection because not ever being able to hear silence again sucks more than you actually appreciate until it's too late. You also have to practice getting a good seal on them since it can be tricky and they need to be in deeper than folks are used to doing with earbuds.

Love my loop earplugs for anyone on the fence. They're great for concerts and to drown out loud noise when needed, all without sacrificing quality of sound. Ears/hearing feel protected (no more post concert ear ringing), without my ears feeling uncomfortable the way airpods make my ear holes hurt especially cuz I have small ears. Bonus that it doesn't muffle conversations, I can still hear my friends talk thru the earplugs -- just great for drowning out excess noise like at parties and functions, etc. Only con is, don't trust the case it comes with. The case frequently cracks open on its own and you may lose your earplugs like I did. So be careful to store them in a more secure case.
I used to have eargasm, and I love these Loop ones more because I feel like sound quality is better.

I have these, they work well but are awfully uncomfortable for my ears. I wish an over the hear noise reduction for concerts existed.

I got the quiets a while back on sale and I have loved them. Never had a pair I could wear while sleeping comfortably that didn't come off. I got the switch recently on sale and it has made shopping and general...being in society much nicer. I bought socks next to a screaming baby. I could tell what was happening and hear if someone talked to me but everything was just toned down.

Do you guys think these would work well with power tools? I don't go to concerts too often, but could justify pulling the trigger if it takes the edge off of the smaller diy power tools like circular saws. Normal not hearing protected headphones are good enough for me, but annoying to use with safety glasses, talking, etc.

Probably the Loop Quiet series, those are on sale for ~$17 right now. Those are fully noise blocking earplugs.

yes, that was it.. I didn't realize there were other versions.. wondering why some here thought they let sound in thru hole. I was surprised how much better they work over those cheap foamies
