I recall a couple of years back threads like these would be filled up with SDers bragging they bought gift cards on 10 or more Amazon accounts and since then these promos have excluded Gift Card purchases and also restricted to very selected accounts. It was abused to the core.

I think my account was blacklisted from these promos. I haven't been eligible for one in over a year

Usually I'm not eligible for these anymore since I've already added my cards. But this one, even though it says you won't be eligible if you remove and re-add your card, I am eligible. I had my Amex card already on my card, but I just removed and relinked it and it let me get the $15 off.

As long as it hasn't shipped or the payment begun processing, yes, you can cancel and should be able to still take advantage of the promotion. Atvleast, that's how the pay with points promos work.

The promotion $20 off $20+ from Discover or $15 off $15+ from Amex or $10 off $10+ from Discover will not work on a gift card any more. They changed it about a year or 2 ago. The $10 off $75+ from Discover using reward cash will work on a gift card and I bought a Chevron eGift card yesterday. So I believe the promotion using the reward cash or point will work on gift card purchase.

I never get this specific offer from OP but I was digging into my payments and my AMEX with rewards had this too. Gift cards would be nice. .
