Product Details:
A Major Upgrade of the Popular Edition X: The new Edition XS expands on its predecessor's achievements with several essential upgrades. Featuring Stealth Magnet Technology and the company's NEO supernano Diaphragm, the Edition XS produces a wide, natural soundstage that puts the listener in the best seat in the house. Edition XS from HIFIMAN brings the depth and range of well-recorded music to an affordably priced headphone.
Acoustically Invisible Stealth Magnet: Unlike the sound waves created by a conventional magnet, the special shape of Stealth Magnets enables the waves to pass through the magnets without generating interference. HIFIMAN's advanced magnet design is acoustically transparent, dramatically reducing wave diffraction turbulence that degrades the integrity of the sound waves. The reduced distortion yields pure sonic output that is accurate and full-range.
HIFIMAN's NEO "supernano" Diaphragm (NsD): The new NsD is 75% thinner than previous designs, resulting in fast response and detailed imaging with lush, full range sonics.
The Headband: The light weight, ergonomically accurate offers maximum comfort for hours of listening pleasure. The exterior is refined matte black material, and the interior features high-grade memory foam for the most comfortable fit and elasticity. The headphone's structural design supports overall durability that retains its comfortable fit for years of enjoyment.
The Cable: HIFIMAN's new 3.5mm sockets are similar to those found on most common audio devices. The supplied 3.5mm cable is user changeable and replaceable.

Last month I received a replacement pair for my originals from 2023, and the headband is now different. It's smaller, tighter. The original design would slip off your head and sat way too low on the ears.

Would you mind sharing what happened to your original pair? Was this a warranty replacement?
Love my Edition XS and I paid this much for a refurb on hifiman.com and could not tell from new. The price for new at hifiman.com is now $239[hifiman.com] for new as well with the advantage of no tax, shipping is fast in the states. Team them with a balanced cable and the Hifiman EF400 R2R Dac/Amp[hifiman.com] for the ultimate experience.

My refurb had a bad left-right imbalance, which sticks with the driver, not the ear or cable. Only improved with changing the balance manually.
Also had a lot of scratches on areas of the frame - headband and cups. Of course the box was opened and cable not tied or in any bag, so it was obviously different "from new" upon unboxing.
I just grabbed the $215 open box from HiFiman. They came in the original box and looked brand new. I just scooped a FiiO K11 R2R DAC, OpenHart 4 Core cable and a Apos Capra strap. Loving the headphones on their own right now!

I think they fell off my desk, and one driver stopped working. It was out of warranty, so they gave me a discount on a new pair at $150. I thought it was quite fair. They wouldn't tell me what they changed in the design, though!

I bough the $215 open box from HiFiman. They came in the brown box and looked brand new.
Now, I am hunting quest for a good DAC amp for under $150. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I use a JDS Labs Atom Amp 2 and a Audio)Meizu MbluHIFI USB-C dongle off my PC or iPad Pro. The Atom Amp 2 is stellar and really powerful. You're going to need power with the Edition XS. And I haven't used a DAC in the last five years that sounded better or worse than any other DAC.

I just bought a QUDELIX-5K BLUETO0TH USB DAC/AMP from Drop.com for $99. So far so good.

If you have any high impedence headphones 250-600ohm I'd look into getting a Schiit Hel 2. Yea it's a "gaming" dac/amp but boy is it powerful for what you get! Original msrp end only around $200 so finding one used for $150 should be possible!
Another good place to find a deal is buying directly from Schiit under there closeout/b-stock section!
i use the ifi signature dac, and it feels like it brings it to full life, with power left. i tried my new btr17 on pc mode, which makes other less power hungry sound good but it's not good enough to bring out the greatness of the XS...
