My Hisense are amazing. I have an 85" Samsung Q90 next to two Hisense 55" and their picture is bright and crisp. The only downside I ever have is that they don't have any good smart features and one remote controls both and you can't set them to two different frequencies like you can on higher end TVs. But it's still way worth it

I remember waiting in line for a Black Friday deal on a 46" Sony edge lit piece of crap for 6 hrs to get it for $799 back in like 2009. My, times have changed.

Also, they can keep the change.

I remember paying $900 for a Panasonic 42" 1080p plasma in 2009.
Thing is, that plasma still actually looks pretty good today. Gave it to my sister-in-law when we bought a 55" TCL. Talk about a downgrade..

I miss plasma. Actual blacks, intense colors, and lots of heat!

Don't forget, heavy! I think that 42" plasma weighed as much as this 85" does.

I had a U8 for a little while. Nice picture. Until my dog lunged at it because a squirrel ran across the screen. Not even a hard hit. Two stars in the screen, cracked, and lines going horizontal and vertical. Before I got a replacement, it died completely. Not a particularly solid experience. My dog has beaten the crap out of Sony and Samsung tvs. I guess they have plastic protection over the glass? Because the U8 sure didn't.
I feel like this rating fall in the "hold my beer" category.

I think I have two beers someone has to hold. A 65" sony tv that I let my dog watch dog videos on. He's a 100lb pit bull.

Avoid anything with Fire OS. Even though most people install a streaming device. Fire OS is buggy, not as easy with picture settings, not always stable, and does not get updated as much as some of the other OS. Get a model with Google TV OS (most modern streaming device install google over android tv). Its also stable, easy to adjust picture settings, gets updated regularly, and usually pretty snappy in terms of navigation.
