Neat little blasters, good way to scare birds/pests away without worrying about hurting them or anything behind them. The glasses are also surprisingly comfortable on my giant head, just be sure not to mix them up with actual shop glasses.
Only downside is it takes a few hours for the beads to be fully soaked, so you kinda need to plan in advance.

They're not plastic. They use waterlock (sodium polyacrylate), which is used in soil amendment and many consumer products. Some websites have claimed it's a plastic due to the misconception that all polymers are plastic, and there are some hypothetical concerns about the long-term effects due to how slowly it biodegrades, but also the quantities here are miniscule relative to the usage in soil amendment (not to mention the many other uses).
