honestly... i kinda winged it.. but i approached it the same way i approach spray painting. I start out the burn further away then approached the wood closer and closer in passes. once i see the right amount of char, i keep that distance and speed to cover the rest of the surface. once it's done. i let it cool down then started sanding it down starting at 800 grit and go upwards from there. I would also burn it a touch more than the char you want because once you start sanding, you'll lose a bit of the char especially if you did a light layer.

Im interested in doing some woodworking and burning the surface with mine. Any resources you can recommend? (Perhaps a website, or a YouTube creator who covers this topic?)

Amazon might be defaulting to "Sold by Amazon" listing based on your zip code if it has some of this product in a warehouse closer to you, because they are prioritizing the one that can get shipped to you faster.

You should try to scroll down the page and find the other sellers and select the ThermoMaven seller listing, and the code should work.

try buying the camo one for $20. Says 7 left in stock.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F137DHZP
"Prime Members: ThermoMaven Propane Torch w/ Adjustable Flame (Camo) on sale for $39.99 - $20.01 (apply promo code LJTDT8K7 at checkout) = $19.98. Shipping is free."
"Camo code does still work for the camo though. Just make sure ThermoMaven is the seller."
