It's funny.

When I was a kid fawning over these in the Eastbay catalog, my dad would say "I'm not paying $100 for a damn sneaker.".

Now I am an old man.
With my own money.
Telling myself

"I'm not paying $100 for a damn sneaker.".

Of course if I see these on clearance at the Kohl's, Ima be the freshest future AARP member on the block

These feel like bricks compared to those though. I have a house full of shoes like these, but I work in Brooks, New Balance and other more comfortable shoes.

Ah yes, basketball shoe designed in the 90s much better than current generation running/walking shoe. Great comparison!

lol I was just coming to say this exact thing. Eastbay delivery day was the best day. But I guess relatively speaking they are more affordable now. $100 in 1995 might as well have been a thousand dollars to us kids.

$100 for these are cheap vs. what sneakers having been selling at for the past 5 yrs... for not much material (low tops) and 'mesh'. marketing lyte weight...

i think backin the day, these were like $129 ?

i mean these are bootlike as it says. lots of material... nike wouldn't dare give you this much material$$ in a shoe any of the past 12 years.

back then they also were marketing bball shoes as high tops, secure the ankle, reduce ankle injuries ,etc... (no scientific evidence a high top is able to prevent a broken ankle).

they moved on to market light weight (and cost savings to themselves)

are you severely wide?

this model is somewhat wide friendly. ie: their airmax in the same era, were clearly narrrow footed.

I had the same shoes when I was in 5th grade. I want one but I'm too cheap to pay for shipping.

The widest ones I've worn are the ones with big air written on them

agreed. these are not comfy daily drivers. New Balance rules in comfort.
