It may be more difficult at first with a ipad but really... that is the future is you want a device to last you it's life time.

And Samsung got caught for stating your phone got updates but left out a few. As well as 87 plus apps that come preinstalled. Samsung has told users that they had all of Android's security patches up to a certain date, while in reality missing as many as a dozen patches from that period—leaving phones vulnerable to a broad collection of known hacking techniques. THIS IS THE SAMSUNG I KNOW.
Also, software is getting bigger all the time... do you see yourself using your S10+ in six years? WIthout it cracking.
The days of searching for movies and TV shows have ended IMHO. I find streaming from unethical sites is faster then going to Netflix and watching an add or two.
Apple binds all torrent apps on iOS, effectively blocking their distribution in its store. Still, there are other ways to download torrents. The POINT IS... there are other ways.

Question... have you tried the Orion browser with Ublock Origin installed?
Reddit has the piracy list AND IT IS LONG!!!! hundreds of sites to stream from legal and unethical. I can not imagine that apple has blocked every one of them.
