I don't know much about these backpack style bags. Grew up with the long bags. One thing that bothers me about these side mesh pockets for bats is that the bat is pretty loose in there and just swings wildly. Don't know if there are better designs with a strap or something to hold the bat handle tight to the bag.
Have seen some of these bags where the front pocket opens wide enough to fit a helmet, and the clip secures it in place. That's not the case on this bag. The mesh pocket is relatively small and the only thing you can do with that clip is loop it through a helmet ear hole, which is a bit awkward.
These are minor complaints and overall the bag is fine for what it is. Don't know that I'd buy it for a teen who is big into baseball, but it's fine as a cheap option for a young child getting into the sport.
