The remaster is by all accounts better but is only available on console and epic games store so no steam version unfortunately.

Loved the original Alan Wake - LOVED it. Even a superior game to the new one (Alan Wake 2), which was a little too strange for my tastes. American Nightmare, on the other hand...(argh!) I loved the change in setting to the American Southwest, and the map looked fantastic, but that stupid gameplay where you repeat the same game three times over just took the fun out of it!

big Alan Wake fan here , i completely agree first game is far better game loved it , story , gameplay and atmosphere , i hate what they did to the story in AW2 for the sake of DEI , it ruined it for me , American Nightmare is a good dlc but the repetition is annoying , played control and its also great , play it , you will love it too , for anyone who still have not played any of those games buy the bundle AW1 franchise + control ultimate edition , worth every penny .
