First time I watched this movie I turned if off after an hour, I hated it. I gave it a second look last night and really enjoyed it. You have to really pay attention to the plot line.

I really enjoyed it but it is overrated. Nowhere near as good as it was made out to be.
I would rent over buying this one.

excellent film, and includes the expanded-height imax aspect ratio scenes on all platforms, afaik

(although not the super-tall 1:43 sequences)

Yes. Was it "as good" as its been hyped up to be? No.

i'll never understand why so many people on the internet feel the need to make their unpopular/negative opinions known, particularly about movies, even more particularly about universally-acclaimed movies like this one.

It's got a 7.7 on IMDb right now. "Universally-acclaimed" it is not.
