Why do you guys buy these foldable phones if you can get a great phone and an awesome bigger screen tablet? Two devices for lower total price is a better deal, isn't it? I am just trying to understand... if these foldables were priced somewhat adequate, then it is another story.
Tablet doesn't fit in my pocket. Managing apps, logins, updates for another device sucks, etc
miss the fold 4 and earlier Samsung deals.. $330 with trade in, tab ultra, full keyboard, galaxy watch +3 bands! those were the days. honestly it's the only reason I became a Samsung fan! however after going back to Mac desktop (thanks to mini m4) and Samsung pricing on par with Apple, I think it's time jump ship to the dark side for a while-- last time I was all-in apple was 2005... 20 years later and they made enough improvements to get me back, while android/Google/Microsoft have not bothered to innovate ... for years I'd hope the exciting china products would make it hear, but they don't. Apple new minimum is 16gb, the m4 is stellar and untouchable value, and their pricing is no longer inflated across any of their items.
Saw a price reduction in my cart and pulled the trigger. Z Fold 7 512GB with trade in of Note 20 Ultra- $1060, with buds 3 Pro and tax came out to $1319.
Why is Samsung playing these games where they allow additional discounts with trade-in?
I have fold 5 that I wanted to trade in and when I do trade-in, I don't qualify for 300 accessory discount. Samsung and tgeir shenanigans.

back in stock at googlefi for $1299 with no trade in chicanery
Yep, exactly.
I could have gotten it through Samsung EPP for $1700 (and $300 accessory) or $850 with S25 Ultra trade-in. Instead I went with Fi and paid $1300 and can just sell Ultra.

If you haven't tried them as your primary phone you probably won't understand. My flip 5 is tiny when closed and easily fits in any pocket. I use the front screen extensively and while closed it is very durable. Some of it is gimmicky and Samsung seems to have decided that the front screen software on the flip is... done. But thankfully, there are apps that allow you to do more with them.
I want a fold but can't stomach the $1k price tag. I'm hoping for a ~300-350 trade in deal for the flip 7.
I think I could stomach $750 knowing I could upgrade to the next (or next next) for ~ 500 but I don't think either of those are going to happen.

Warning: Whoever pre-ordered it before and try to cancel it might not go through. i found out the price dropped last night, and I just canceled my last pre-ordered right the way. but when i received the cancel email, they only canceled my digital goods (software bonuses, Samsung care), but the phone still were stuck "in process." Now the "cancel" option on "my order" is disappear. i can't cancel it anymore.
I just chatted with rep 3 times see if they can help and 2 of the rep said I have to wait 24 hours to see if the cancelation goes though an other rep said i have to wait 24-36hr. that stupid... the item not even shipped yet. i dont know why they dont let me cancel it.
I had the same situation as well.

$1700 and it does not have as many cameras as the s25 ultra!
Plus folding tech is still FRAGILE. Go read the Fold Reddit.
Z Fold 4 1 TB owner here. My screen got dead pixels like 2 months after warranty ended.
If you have deep pockets, it's a fun toy. But now I regret it.
I'm going back to the s26 ultra next year.
