USB-A is when you use it as a power bank to charge other devices. The power cable for the speaker is USB-C

For price reference Verizon had an offer available for $89.99 free ship on this model late June. Costco's price seems high for previous model.

His point is that USB-A is redundant as the USBC port could be bidirectional and serve both purposes.

The fact that it still uses USB-A is such a turn off

How funny, I just posted this on Reddit yesterday mostly to complain about thinking it was the Charge 6 when in reality it's a 4-year-old Charge 5 that doesn't support Auracast.

This is WiFi enabled. Was Verizon one WiFi enabled?
I seen great clearance deals on JBL at Verizon in the past. But it's more of a YMMV (a bit better than YMMV).

Check for the WiFi version rather than Bluetooth only. I couldn't find the WiFi version on Amazon for this price.

Kohls, amazon, jbls website all the same price. Think Jbl might offer a email coupon too. Costco can do better

I saw a charge 5 wifi on my local FB marketplace for $125 (firm), he got it from Costco. Wondering why he just return the charge 5 wifi back to Costco and get his $$ back. Does bt speaker falls into Costco 90 days return window?

Got it! Thanks for pointing that out. Still Jbl has charge 5 no wifi for $139, sign up for emails get an instant 20% ($28) off that price, free shipping and cash back sites 3%. Is it worth it for the WiFi version I always have my phone with me and never had a Bluetooth issue?

I think it depends. For some people, it's probably not needed. For me, it's really valuable since it's on my local network almost always (house, yard, patio, etc). Anyone in the family, anyone visiting, etc can start streaming from any device - no need to pair directly. Plus, you can start the audio when you're further away and you don't have to stay close if you want audio to continue while you step away from the speaker, take a phone call, etc.
