I've bought a few of these in the past. Even with oiling, they don't tend to last long. For instance, not even long enough to get through the 3 chains they give you. The motor poops out. Maybe this one is different but make sure your expectations are in check

if the motor poops out, you've still got those batteries to go with your other devenbo tools.

I would be pretty nervous using a $30 mini chainsaw... I can just imagine the little chain breaking and flying into my face going right through the safety glasses or somethin. I just bought a Milwaukee Fuel mini chainsaw for $180 because I am about to embark on a major brush clearing project, and was considering this instead to save $150... but after reading reviews I think the extra $$ is worth both safety and effectiveness at doing the job...

IDK I had a power line to my house moved for some construction and for some reason the power company cleans up after themselves if they come trim your trees away from power lines but when I pay to have a power line moved the cut down whatever tree they need to and leave it where it falls Frown

I have a nice chainsaw but I bought one of these mini chainsaws recently so I pulled it out and proceeded to chop the tree into moveable pieces and I was able to chop all except the 3 thicker bases of 3 branches and the main tree itself which I wouldn't even attempt. the base was about 20 inches around so not a huge tree but I was still impressed with how much I was able to get done with a little mini chainsaw. Different brand than offered here but They probably all come out of the same factory !

Can't figure out what the battery is compatible with. Would buy if it were Dewalt, Dongchang, DCK or RIgid. Don't need another battery charge on my wall.

Were you looking for attention? These things have very little torque, momentum or even speed. If the chain broke you would be lucky to notice. I haven't seen many chains EVER breaking regardless, but saws do throw chains. If this thing threw a chain I can't imagine it could do any harm. I wear glasses regardless for sawdust, sticks, bugs. I don't know if you were joking or really thought a 6" chain saw could do any real harm. I would be more worried about stubbing my toe on it.

I suppose I was stating the obvious, but even on slickdeals, in most cases you get what you pay for. You seem to acknowledge that this thing sucks I guess by stating it has very little torque, speed, etc., so if it can't hurt a person, it sure as hell can't cut through trees Big Grin

Maybe blowing $30 on a cheap minichain saw will work out for a few people, but for most it will either break in two minutes or probably just sit on a shelf (speaking from experience Big Grin

). But for those that actually plan on using/needing a pruning chainsaw... it is probably better to pay for quality on a tool commonly known for eating fingers if you aren't careful, and that needs decent power to be safe and effective. Just dropping a couple reviews for the chainsaw in this deal out of many bad ones, there are quite a few more saying that this thing is trash. I can't confirm via personal experience... but this isn't a buy now, think later deal, there is a reason Woot is blowing these out.

Extremely underpowered. Tried it first on a branch 1.5 inches thick, and all it did was nick the bark. Tried it on a thinner branch, and it chewed it a little but couldn't cut it. I've used chain saws for years, but I couldn't get this to work. Very disappointed.

no comment on this brand, my cheap one from amazon for around the same price has serve me well around the house; I have a Greenworks pole saw too, but this mini chainsaw type is so convenient for smaller (up to 2" maybe) branches, not to mention that it's cheaper than a single brand-name battery.
