I would get this if I didn't already have four tripods, 13 flashlights, 7 Bluetooth speakers and 12 external battery chargers.

If you're a professional and do this kinda thing for a living just because he has 4 doesn't mean they are all the same. They could be back ups. Older tripods. Different heights. Different abilities. It's never bad to have extras. He might get a job that requirs a couple cameras and then one of the tripods breaks and suddenly it would be nice to have an extra one.

I have an older version of this and this one is a bit fancier than mine. I like the 77" height ability and mounting the camera underneath. That's pretty cool. But I don't need it either. I currently have a big giant photo back drop with tons of green screens I currently don't use anymore and not sure what to do with

Would this hold a phone decently? Looking for a deal on something relatively stable, but portable.

Have a previous version of this Tripod. Looks almost identical other than some different accent colors.
Have been happy with it over the years. Obviously this isn't a professional model, but it has done everything I want it to.

It would definitely hold a phone but might be too big for what you're looking for.

This is normally $46 so the original price of $60 is a bit misleading. Honestly, for $40 it's fine for what it is but I would temper expectations of it performing like a $100+ tripod.

Big is actually a plus for my use--I want it to have some height. It will be used once a week for at least a few years.

Should I snag this, or maybe go for something more pro-grade?

Maybe for shooting off of with your phone in a mount, sure, or an A6000 for vlogging. However, remember the old adage for a $10 tree you need a $100 hole? Well... if you're planning on hanging $4000 of camera gear off of a $40 tripod... 😳
