My store ran out of the purple Daytona on the last deal and they let me preorder one at the sale price. They called me 10 days later for pick up.

Is this too much for the casual oil change and car repair? I'm an average joe who works on a mini van from time to time and maybe another car once in a while. Is there anything cheaper with the same convenience or is this good for the price?
If your budget and storage space allows, this one is the way to go.

Dont forget jack stands and wheel chocks.

Product Weight 79 lb.
Yeahhhhh it's a bit heavy.
Get an aluminum one if you can afford it.

How does this compare to the arcan from Costco. I've seen it as low as $99 in store but regret not getting it.
this daytona, to my understanding is the same as the snap on jack. snap on sue harbor freight, but harbor freight won, so everyone started to get the daytona. thats what i heard. i have this one and the more expensive 3 ton. both works great

No, that's the "super duty" that Harbor Freight sells (possibly the "more expensive" one you're talking about that you own). This jack is different.

Project Farm (a great youtube channel) compares the Arcan to others (but not this one specifically) and it performs REALLY well. Bottom line you'd be happy with either of these at this price.

What are the chances stores run out by the evening (i.e. after 5pm or so)? Based on previous similar deals, and if so do they do rainchecks?

Nope. the Super Duty [harborfreight.com] is the "Snap-on Killer."

Note that it also carries a 3-year warranty, vs. 90-day for most of the rest.

$100 is a very good price for this Daytona model, which is usually priced about $30 higher than the Pittsburgh LP 3-ton, which itself has been as low as $90. This is one of the better sales.

The two are very similar, and either would be fine for someone who needs a jack. Keeping in mind that the purpose of floor jacks is to lift things, not hold them up, which is tasked to jack stands.

I have the older model Arcan from Costco that is all steel and 100 pounds. Had it going on 13 years now and it's been great. Probably similar to this jack overall.

This is considered by many to be the cream of the crop as far as Jacks go.

I will be getting one...
I had not heard this. Going to look into it more now. Thanks!

I bought either this or the long reach low profile Daytona around 6 years ago. It had some rust and a manufacturing defect out of the box. I'm sure that wasn't the norm, but chose to return it rather than exchange it. I then bought the Arcan. It's been working great since. Much lighter too, which makes a difference if you move it between locations ever.

My pops had this Jack and I was just using it. It is phenomenal. Smooth, no play in the handle (it raises immediately upon pushing the handle down). Easy to adjust and move.
Yeah, it's a great jack. When they first came out there was a lot of hype comparing it the Snap-on it was a copy of, and a lot of the reviewers said the HF version was better. I've had one for a few years and temped to buy another for my other garage so I don't have to keep dragging it between my shop and my garage.

They posted it on their Instagram, showing the jack in the cart and saying $100 off.

Price of jack on website is $199.99.

Also, they have a banner for 7 days of deals on their website but it is not linked to anywhere, yet

How do these compare to the "extra long reach" version? Hoping to wait for another deal on that since I have a pretty low vehicle
