My store ran out of the purple Daytona on the last deal and they let me preorder one at the sale price. They called me 10 days later for pick up.

Is this too much for the casual oil change and car repair? I'm an average joe who works on a mini van from time to time and maybe another car once in a while. Is there anything cheaper with the same convenience or is this good for the price?
You could buy ramps, which is what I use for oil changes

I bought this jack a few years back to rotate my own tires on my Ford Raptor. It works great, as others have said — pair with the appropriate sized jack stands and chocks.

Think of it as a testament to product's quality and popularity. This guy said he had three jacks and the HF one was what got stolen. These things are HEAVY and the thief picked the Daytona jack out of the offerings. Quite the endorsement!

I had not heard this. Going to look into it more now. Thanks!
Not cream of crop but a great deal for a jack that at best on sale is like $140.

What if any is the difference between the 3 ton low profile Pittsburgh branded jack and Daytona?

How do these compare to the "extra long reach" version? Hoping to wait for another deal on that since I have a pretty low vehicle
Long reach isn't going to help if your concern is low ride height. Long reach will get the jack further under the vehicle if you have a need to raise it by the rear diff etc. It will also give you more height. Long reach is needed for trucks/SUVs etc, not really for low vehicles. This would likely be a great jack for you

Great deal! I already have 3 jacks. one is a 3.5T arcan steel and another is a 3T aluminum arcan both from costco more than 15 years ago!! However my most recent is the harbor freight Daytona 2.5T green one that weighs like 43lb and I got it last year for IIRC 40% off!!! was tempted to get the all silver aluminum that weighs like 30 lbs but wanted the 2.5 vs 1.5

I got the Harbor 2.5 ton aluminum jack instead, cause this model is a beast & weighs as much as your cuz that loves fudge.

ASME-PASE certified, better valving, better seals, better machining. If you're using it in your garage on a 3000lb Mustang 6-8 times a year, the Pittsburgh is great. But this price beats the Pittsburgh right now. If you're lifting 5500lb trucks all the time in a shop, you want the Daytona Super Duty, if you fall in the middle, that's where this jack fits. The more you go up the good/better/best ladder, the happier you'll be with the long term performance, but they're all great jacks.

Could be "$100 off" some higher fake retail price. But let's hope for 100 off the current 200 list price.

And thus, the age old dilemma - half the weight vs half the price.

The aluminum jack rings in at 220. If this can be had for $100 (*if*), it becomes a question of how painful will lugging the extra 50 lbs of jack will be, and is it worth the savings? In my case at least, I'm not going to be reaching for this guy often, so if I can score this one at a hundred bucks it's worthwhile.

I bought the long reach during their July 4th sale. If it goes on a similar sale, do you think they would honor the new price or would I have to do a return and buy again?

I have two harbor freight floor jacks. one is going on 30 years of use and I've had to put new Jack oil into a few times. It's been spectacular and reliable. The second one is this low profile jack it is extremely heavy and kind of large, but it works well. to get under a Prius, you have to use one jack on the side to get the vehicle up high enough to get to the jack point that you put the other jack on. in other words, these low profile jacks aren't necessarily a slam dunk for every vehicle, but you can get around it with creativity. I wish it had a longer reach, but it would have to be several ft long to get under a very low car with a very far back central jack point (like a Prius).
