The only problem I had with this is that the brass fittings on the hose and aluminum fitting on the reel will end up reacting chemically and will cause the fitment to fail.

Could you use the blue tape (I forgot the brand name) to kind of keep the 2 metal from oxidizing?

It might help, but you'd definitely want to change it out regularly depending on usage.

Very good info!!!!

Glad I bought the Craftsman USA Hoses when they were on clearance years ago. Nickle plated fittings.

Looks like they went to mostly plastic to fix this issue. To bad because the metal one is 10 years ild and still not leaking.
