Love the idea but the use case feels very targeted...

lots of tools are specialized for a single type of task, why is that suspicious?

The type of soil it will work well on is also pretty easy to dig with a regular post hole digger.

80v and 82v platforms are incompatible without modification. Both augers are only single speed while other battery augers offer two speeds. 82v has anti-kickback. 80v linked above does not have anti-kickback, although comes with extension.

My first thought. We really we need 82 when we have 80?

I swear by the greenworks tools in the 80V line as they are basically as good as gas but I wish they could just focus on less lines. Seems so unnecessary.

I remember when HD had like 75% off the 60V line but I passed on so many great tools because I did not want 2 lines.

I have the Ryobi 40V version of this and I dont know if I could have built a deck without it. that thing is a beast and was the whole reason i bought into the 40V ryobi ecosystem.

I've been waiting for the Ryobi auger to go on sale, the reviews look great for it. I was hoping with Ryobi days there would be some discount, but nothing. I'm probably just going to have to pay full price.
