Wire Nuts aren't code compliant anymore in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Japan, Australia, or China. In fact the US, Canada, and Mexico are some of the few countries that still permit wire nuts.
The reason why Wire Nuts are no longer considered safe is:

Inconsistent installation quality that cannot be inspected/verified. Wire Nuts can be both under and over torqued, both of which can result in a poor connection.
They have poor performance when used with stranded wire (as commonly found in a lot of prewired "smart" switches/sockets/etc). In fact if you're using Wire Nuts to secure solid and stranded wire together, you're making a mistake.
Lack mechanical locking. They rely on friction, with no positive locking. Vibration or movement can cause them to loosen over time (which is why it is commonly recommended to replace all Wire Nuts when working in an outlet, even ones not directly altered).
Not gas-tight which can allow oxidation to occur on the joint, which can increase resistance and therefore heat.
Not IEC 60998 or 60364 compliant because clamp force and performance cannot be proven (see inconsistent installation).

Ultimately a Wire Nut, when installed by an experienced electrician can be safe and likely is safe. However, that is the exception rather than the rule. Rookie electricians exist, inexpensive construction contractors exist, and homeowners most certainly exist. Inspectors cannot see inside a Wire Nut, so cannot tell you if it was done correctly or not. Mechanically connected connectors exist because they consistently and provably provide a safe connection that can be visually confirmed.

The majority of the world uses these connectors and is using them on 230V @ 16A (3680W) Vs. the 120V @ 20A (2400W) for North America, which means much smaller tolerances. But supposedly, and only online, do random people appear to claim they "see these fail all the time" without a lick of proof. Pretty clear that some people have an agenda, and will just outright fabricate annotates to further it.

Been doing electrical work for over 20 years. I've seen too many lever connectors. in the field to count. I've never seen one failed lever nut. Not one.

Absolutely zero chance I'd trust a mains electrical product from the online king of counterfeits, Amazon.

And to be totally clear, I absolutely adore Wago wire connectors. Just get them from Home Depot or an electrical parts distributor. You have a fairly decent chance at getting "commingled inventory" from Amazon, which means fake product. I wouldn't trust that in my home for a moment.

And you, Mr. Amazon Insider, have full transparency into their logistical distribution? This is a company that is entirely comfortable with selling you a counterfeit product. They simply do not care for you. Why do you care so much for a company that cares so little about you? How much of their stock do you own again? Seems like you have an interest in their well-being.
You can Google it? Amazon warehouses are not top secret, the company that packages these wago products is peppy products llc which is the only seller on Amazon for these repackaged products. Likely as a preventative measure to avoid counterfeits since faking both the wagos and the peppy products branding is more effort than just counterfeiting the wagos themselves and selling those on Amazon where it is easy to co-mingle. You can also reach out to Wago to confirm peppy is an authorized redistributor of their products for the US market. That's what I did when I bought the 90 pc set of these from them the last time one of these deals dropped. Amazon has a lot of issues with comingled products (never buy SanDisk memory cards from them since the fakes are everywhere for example) but in this case all the bases are covered to avoid fakes. Just look at the reviews, similar number of reviews to the standard Wago packaging but the lowest review is a 3 star and no complaints of fakes while the normal Wago listing has complaints about fakes.

I've used the HF version without issue across a project to change all of the lighting from 3" cans to 6" recessed lights. Used some to replace the poorly installed wire nuts in my sister's new house lighting.

I went back and forth on this deal. The HF had some bad reviews so I'm out there. I got a bunch of big box store push in but like this lever idea more. I'm bak in for 1 here I think I'll use these on a handful of ceiling fans that have some vibration and my bigbox push in on the light fixtures. Good discussion on fake via amazon. My PNYs are failing now like my fake Sandisks from amazon. 🤔
These ceiling fans with remote have a bunch of things trying to stuff in there and wirenut holding twisted and solid wires while holding up the heavy fan on a ladder. IDK which job is worse this or working with replacing a toilet cleaning off the wax ring?

I usually use wire nuts myself, but recently needed to connect a bunch of copper to some existing aluminum where rewire wasn't feasible. Wago 222 (grey colored, much sturdier) and some Noalox squirted into the terminals did the trick. It's code compliant in Europe, so good enough for me. Sometimes Wago makes sense.

this is one of the most contentious products that gets posted here regularly. I believe they're a solution for a problem that never existed, but some people love them. I've never once in my entire life had any problems with regular wire nuts.
As a homeowner who does electrical every 6 months at most, I love them. In fact, I wish every outlet in my home had them because it would make retrofitting stuff SOOO much simpler than needing to snip every twisted set of wires (making the resulting wire shorter) and instead I could shuffle between a 2/3/5 connection wire.

For example, I remodeled my bathroom last winter. Originally only had one GFCI outlet in the bathroom, but late in the process decided I wanted a lighted mirror as well. Super easy to swap to a 3-port connector and add a new wire from my attic down to the spot, and not need to untwist/awkwardly retwist a third wire into already well twisted splices. For new construction bulk electrical I understand why pros like wire nuts. Hate them as someone who only encounters them via remodel/rerouting. Im actually gonna start using the Lever Edge outlets too cause Im not good at wire hooks.

Ive bought from Peppys before and gotten the legit thing, but that was before they were in any stores. Now they're gettable at Ace/HomeDepot/Menards, and HarborFreight/Lowes have iterations of them. I'd only buy them via Amazon if those stores were too far to get to

Once I started using the hole in my wire strippers to make hooks, it got way easier to make them. Starting @ 4:18

Anybody wondering about the durability, I've exclusively used these for my Airstream rehab 6 years ago. It's an old vintage with a completely shot suspension so it bounces around a lot when traveling. I can literally make butter if I leave out a jug of milk.
Not one failed connection.

I used these WAGO's, but have always been a little skeptical about Peppy. So I contacted WAGO support, and received this reply:
