It's cheaper to buy neem oil and make your own spray by mixing 1/10 ratio neem to water with few drops of dishwashing liquid, this way one bottle of neem oil will be enough for a whole year, an example of neem oil is the following. https://a.co/d/70jvvKV

I don't have a lot of experience here, but I prefer the soil soak/drench. Much easier application. But completely agree on the value!

I tried using a different brand (bioadvanced) neem oil spray on Japanese beetles, but the beetles are still eating away the plant. Tried spraying the plant continuously for several days, but no noticeable result. Wondering if a different brand neem oil such as this will work effectively OR a different treatment. Any experiences using this for Japanese beetles?

According to my Google:Neem oil type:Some neem oil products are clarified and may not contain the active ingredient, azadirachtin. Using cold-pressed neem oil with azadirachtin is recommended for pest control.Checked the label and the bioadvanced is clarified.

Sorry for the dumb question: you can dilute oil with water? I thought oil and water don't mix.

Shake bottle before spraying. This will mix the oil enough to deliver onto leafs for protection

My advice for Japanese beetles is your thumb and index finger. Give them a good squeeze till you feel it crack (you'll get used to it) and move on to the next and the next…

Check back the next day and repeat if necessary until your pests are gone.

Sevin in a pump sprayer works great for me. They will otherwise eat all of the new green foliage off of my sassafras tree every year late June/early July.

When you kill them they release a smell that attracts many others over. That's how the Japanese beetle trap works. Better to just pick them and drop them in a bucket that has soapy water. I have a serious Japanese beetle problem in my yard. I pick and drawn approx 100 of them a day for the entire summer and they are still around to eat my plants.

i been doing a lot of research on how to get rid of flying pests in my yard. i'm sure the same can be applied for japanese beetles since the products i researched did mention them. i had someone come and prune my trees and bushes. spray triazicide on the bushes, captain jack orchard spray on my fruit trees. i also did a neem oil soak. and now there are much less flying insects in my yard, except for some flies which is so hard to get rid of. I also got ortho home defense indoor and perimeter2 for my garage and cracks, corners and doorways. for maintenance, i got the bio advance complete insect killer (i'm in california, so i can only get the nerfed version). also got wondercide for my fruit trees. havent tried the bio advance and wondercide yet, and will try nematodes next. there isnt a 1 product solution. need to use multiple ways and products.

Grub control is the best way to minimize if you have problems IMO. This was the first year I used it and my lawn looks somewhat healthier as do some of my plants.

It didn't completely rid me of the problem, but much more manageable

You need to add few drops of dishwashing soap this will help with the mix, also shake before using.
