I used to use cheaper meat thermometers, but the investment in a nicer one was well worth it for me.
I've only used it once, but it seems to work fine and definitely worth $4!
It also came with a second battery; one was already inside and a second was in a bag.
I thought that was a nice touch.
It uses the small round batteries so replacing the battery probably costs about the same as buying a new one assuming they keep doing this deal.
