Thanks for the alternate sellers! I got mine from Kobo.
On a side note, I find it mildly amusing that the Amazon product description says "one of the most books written in the last half century".

"A narration of a summer motorcycle trip undertaken by a father and his son, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance becomes a personal and philosophical odyssey into fundamental questions on how to live. The narrator's relationship with his son leads to a powerful self-reckoning; the craft of motorcycle maintenance leads to an austerely beautiful process for reconciling science, religion, and humanism. Resonant with the confusions of existence, this classic is a touching and transcendent book."

I can't recall if I finished reading this or not?

Read it in my early twenties. Disappointing that it's being forgotten somehow. A truly special book. Enjoy

It's like 5% Zen and 10% motorcycle maintenance. The rest of it is an essay on quality and finding meaning in life told through a story about motorcycle touring. One can almost think of it as Catcher in the Rye if Holden was actually intelligent, not self-centered, had something meaningful to say, and not alone...so I guess it's nothing like Catcher in the Rye.
The downside of ebooks is that they do not convey just how long it is. It's a thick 400 page book. It's the kind of book where the author is talking about 'quality' for 10 pages and then goes 'So then put the next bolt in the header...'

It will enter the public domain in 2088 (Pirsig's death 2017 + 70 years)

No, "Catcher in the Rye" was good. This is about a guy with a 160IQ(makes sure you know this in the first few pages) which makes him think he's brilliant at everything in life and craps on everyone else. The guy thought his married friends were fighting because a leaky faucet he found annoying. He thought he was a genius because he cobbled things together instead of using oem parts. Then his mental illness really took hold and freaked out on the word quality. The book sucks.
