Just picked these up, salted variety and they aren't very tasty. This is coming from someone addicted to Teddie peanutbutter.

I've been eating these for years now and really like them. Get the unsalted versions and eat them in the mornings at my desk at work

"Dry roasted peanuts" sounds like a cooking process. I always thought it was until I read the side of one of these jars and discovered that it was actually a seasoning sauce applied to roasted peanuts, whose main ingredient is yes of course, SUGAR, as can be seen in the label for this product.

So apparently, the seasoning name is "dry roasted" and is yet another method to include sugar in a product that most people wouldn't look for. Pretty slick, no? And don't forget the "corn syrup solids", yet another form of sugar!

What's crazy is that my favorite peanut butter is peanuts and salt and I love eating it with a spoon, keeping my carbs in check so no bread most of the time Smilie. I think the squirrels chipmunks and deer are getting some peanuts this week. Dry roasted refers to there being no oil involved in the roasting process, they can still add whatever crazy stuff they want. Most of us believe seed oils are bad so I generally prefer dry roasted nuts and seeds. Funny that the 2nd ingredient is sugar yet there is 0 grams of added sugar in the nutritional information.

Walgreens buys from some mass manufacturer, so who knows how accurate the labeling is?

I just looked at the label and see zero added sugar but 2g total sugar. I checked with Perplexity and apparently, peanuts have about 1g of natural sugar per 1oz serving. But I don't believe that natural sugar would not have to be listed on the label.

So where does the 2g of sugar come from? We do see sugar listed as the 2nd and 7th product by volume..

Also remember that the 2g of sugar listed on the label applies to a SINGLE SERVING. So with 16 supposed servings in a 1lb jar, that is 32g of sugar per jar, which is a bit over a FULL OUNCE!

No wonder we have an obesity problem when every food is laced with one or more forms of sugar!

That's absurd, you're not going to get obese from these peanuts unless you consume mass quantities, it's the amount of carbs that ultimately count. Total carbs per serving are 6, total
fiber is 2 per serving. Net carbs are 4 (Carbs - Fibers = net carbs)

so 4 carbs per serving, even if you ate the entire jar at once that's 64 net carbs per JAR.

Two slices of pizza have about 72 carbs.
