These are much more useful than the Mastercards - as a few of my utility companies no longer accept them. I was at Staples at 10 am this morning and got 9, as were the only other 10 people in the store

Most of these have expiration dates around 2031/2032 at this point. With that said, its better to not hang on to these very long. They can get lost, stolen, etc. These deals typically happen once a month for the Visas and once a month for the Master cards so there isn't really a reason to hang on to a bunch of them long term (unless you're trying to meet minimum spend on a new credit card).

What is the primary use for these? Cc spending limit to unlock bonus?

It's probably user error, but I've never had any luck using these online outside of Amazon.

Utilities are about the only way I've found left to empty these over the past year as blackhawk keeps restricting these are retail places for purchases which previously accepted these for years.

There is significant risk verses minor reward. They get misplaced or lost. They may get stolen. They eventually expire. They aren't accepted in many locations. I struggle to understand why these would still be of interest. I didn't consider utilities though.

Could purchase with amex to get the points, and then turn around and use them to pay bills?

Sadly, my utilities charges % fee on using cards, so no quick way of using them to avoid possible lost/stolen.

I don't understand how these work. Where is the address? You have to register or to your address and your name to use? Very confusing.

Crazy, sold out at two Staples locations I went to. Going to check a third tomorrow, I guess.

Why would these be beneficial for utilities over a normal cc or check card? Genuinely curious. Do you these count towards staples rewards or something? Otherwise it just seems like you are converting $200 for $200, but in a less secure form.
