Not that stable since it's really light weight. Based on the reviews. For just use as a selfie stick seems to do the job but as a tripod something more sturdy would be better.

I have both the lightweight ones (something like this), and the heavier ones for the cameras.

Concur with you. The lightweight ones do tilt a bit in strong wind, but for quick photos and convenience, these ones can't be beaten. The heavier ones are hard to lug along on a hike.
