The Scan Ferret Pro is an entry level 3D scanner that is suitable for scanning medium size objects and people. The difference between the Scan Ferret Pro and the non-Pro Scan Ferret is the Wi-Fi bridge. The Wi-Fi bridge on the Pro also allows you to use it with iPhones because iOS devices don't work with third-party USB devices but can transfer data via Wi-Fi. This allows you to scan people without dragging a cable behind you while walking around them. It can also capture color if you want to use it to generate props for games where you need textures of objects.
If you need to scan tiny details, the Otter or Raptor series, which are more expensive, are better suited. But you can also achieve good results with smaller parts using the Scan Ferret by placing markers on the turntable or positioning a bigger object with rich geometry next the small objects you want to scan.
