I think at this point it might be the only "approved" calculator for AP Calc tests, or something like that. There's really no reason they shouldn't be like $30 new by now.
That being said, you can get them on ebay for about $50. People use them a year (or semester) and sell them.
Got a couple of Coral ones for $30 each at Walmart clearance back in 2019 from this slickdeal. One of them was put for good use and the other one is ready to be used soon.

That's about what I paid for this thing 30 years ago. I know inflation is a thing but how on earth does this calculator still cost this much money?

This thing supports Python scripting? I wonder if one could solder in an ESP32 and make it the ultimate cheat device by giving it access to a LLM that's good at math or Wolfram Alpha.

You used to be able to do assembly and all sorts of fun things. Hacking for games was good back in the day. Then people made cheating apps where certain button combos could show and hide notes for exams. So TI killed it.
Got mine on FB marketplace new unopened for $30. See them in that range regularly in my area. Probably supporting retail theft... I notice stores in my area lock up commonly stolen items but this excludes graphing calculators
Just grabbed an ancient TI-81 (the OG graphing calculator from TI, despite later models with lower numbers) at a nearby resale shop for $1.50 - Saturday was half-off. That was a banner day as I also grabbed a copy of LEGO Batman for the PS2 for half-off at $2.70 and it's played well thus far. Though impractical for many buyers, the secondary market remains the best option for most graphing calculator shoppers given the market power that has kept the retail price of these calculators fixed over time. Even at $95 it's hard to call the Python edition a deal, but more an accepted cost of taking math courses when shopping at retail prices.
Good luck!
Jon

Surprised the price has been steady. Either supply/demand or just no real competitor.

You could also just type notes/answers into them and call up the info later.

That said... inflation's getting to a point where $95 for one doesn't seem all that terrible anymore 😅

The Python model is novel and interesting. Some detail on the Python model is highlighted in a Ben Heck video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXvJ8du
