To achieve full speed, you'll need a PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot. Even then, the performance gains over a Gen 4 NVMe drive are only noticeable if you're regularly transferring massive files. Gen 5 drives seem most worthwhile for capacities between 4TB and 8TB, where the speed advantage really starts to show. otherwise, Gen 4 is the current sweet spot for price, capacity and speed

Overpriced + WASTE OF MONEY. Sequential i/o speed is 100% useless for daily use.Get 4TB, so you can install more call'o'dooties. Those refurb 990pro / SN850x 4TB for $180/ $205 is the best deal this season.
honestly this is correctly priced for what you get. the read write speed are doubled from the SN990 pro on these. they are extremely fast meaning load times for assets etc in gaming load very quickly and dont cause stutters etc. the 990 pro is Gen 4 PCIE this one is Gen 5. hopefully you will understand now.
Wow is this overpriced. Same specs from a reputable brand for easily under $100 - check PC Part Picker first! These are very much commoditized now, not like the early days of SSD's where brand was super important. This coming from someone who has bought quite a few Crucial items in the past, including an SSD several years ago.
its not same specs see below this is PCIE Generation 5 not 4. You must have a motherboard that supports PCIE5 or you wont get the benefits. This is like comparing DDR4 to DDR5 its a generational upgrade. If you want to compare it to other brands that are PCIE5 Such as samsung you need to compare it with the 9100 PRO. This isnt about how much space you get its about how fast the drive works. Below i have placed all the stats on the different SSDs for you to understand what this product is.

For >99% of people, there will be no perceptible difference between this and the 990 Pro (or even many lower end SSDs).
