The Amazon price is also highly inflated. I want to say $25 is normal for this.

Definitely not originally $70, I bought the version with the driver handle for much less than that.

Amazon's [amazon.com] price is currently $35.51, so the Lowe's price of $19.98 seems like a deal to me.

How many things have you worked on lately that were SAE? Metric? Notice these sales only have the SAE and not their metric sets. I got this instead $20 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D18Y7...e_0_0&th=1 but only the 1 socket version 8 10 $10 then this to help round out the hex sockets $9 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CNK57...in_title_1

Ok, this one has me a bit mystified...can't realistically see a use case for this? Maybe keeping one thing in the glovebox of your car rather than multiple sockets?

Yet it seems to me the additional length would be a detriment in many real world situations (kind of like only having a set of deep well sockets). And if you had any flange bolts, well...it'd only work half the time...

Plus will these still work well once they've experienced a bit of dirt / grit / grime?

Would love to hear from someone who owns these...

This is an electrician's tool. Not really for other uses. The sizes are the common sizes used in the trades.

Why would an electrician use impact tools?

I have been working on cars motorcycles and other things for 50+ years. I do some plumbing and electrical but socket use seems limited when I do those. IKEA furniture and around the house furniture is another common use for most of us. This might work well for 1% of people as well as on antique cars and tractors.

The metric set works for me to keep in my cordless hex-only screwdriver case and not be too big when I need to tighten or assemble furniture. Your car? SAE won't fit anything. I can't remember when a socket could fix anything on the side of the road in real life. Call a tow truck.

How about a flat tire change? I never called a tow truck in my life.

Because using non impact rated bits in a driver is not a great idea.

I have but don't use it often. I have a very small makita 1/4" socket set with a silicone holder and bit holder (not enclosed) that I reach for every time. This one is shallower and take a little more effort to rotate sockets for the right one. I just don't care for it. I suppose if you undo cap screws all day, the magnet may help. That's why I think its a HVAC specific tool,

I think the tow truck will be on-call for that one too with most vehicles now days, as the spare tire is too expensive and heavy to put in a vehicle, that jack is a liability for the manufactures when the customer gets injured, or the wheel comes flying off as it was not installed properly...

That can of fix a flat will be no good by the time it's needed or the included tire inflator is overheated from running too long.

Times are changing, gone is the ability for people to be independant and work things out. That screen in the dash and what it does along with the fancy gismos are the deciding factor.
The sides are somewhat thick if using it for the smaller of the socket sizes, for HVAC the 1/4 and 5/16 does not fit in spaces to get contactors caps and other electrical components out like a normal flip socket. The 2 sizes are on different ends so when taking screws out in the open one still needs to flip when people use different screws. Maybe it works better for an electrician?

Can the same be said about home appliances? Most of my tools are metric
but I have a decent amount of DAE stuff to keep me out of a jam.
