In general, if someone meets it, you bet that they will advertise it.

NSF has a reverse lookup for each standard. You can search which manufacturers met it.

The Stokk says it meets NSF, but it is helpful to cross verify that as well. I don't have the time to confirm.

The CuZn looks nice but I'm not sure what they're certain are other than WQA.

I could be wrong, but I believe WQA is a pay to play organization. You just pay the membership fee. I'm not aware that you have to submit or meet tests, like NSF and ASTM requires you to. Also some companies claim to meet NSF, but it's actually only for the components. Like they will meet am mad standard for the fittings and fasteners, but not for the actual filtration.

So from my perspective I'll always go with the NSF certified products for water/food. A company that is transparent and willing to go through the effort and cost of certifying their product gives me peace of mind.

I know a bit about these kinds of water filters. I'd highly recommend paying premium for the CuZn UC-200. 5 year warranty, helpful customer service. Made in USA. These are okay but the connection points are probably crap.

My neighbor had this crap. Woke up one morning and the press-in hose fittings came out and flooded his kitchen. BUY one with screw in fittings.

Does the CuZn UC-200 have NSF certification?

I wasn't able to find any on their website.

Hmmm I'm getting some conflicting results. I'd email the customer support to ask for an official statement.

CuZn's UC-200 Series under sink water filters are NSF/ANSI 42&372 certified. Featuring industry leading filtration performance, legendary lifetime warranty support and are without question the best value on the market.

I'll never understand why people buy all these proprietary filters instead of a standard 10" housing. Then you can get exactly the filters you want, know what it is doing and how well it is performing. This sounds like a standard 5 micron carbon block filter which is decent for most public water supplies. Or you can upgrade to a brand name filter like Matrikx Chloraguard.

New to these filters and the idea of owning/using one. So if this is only connected to the cold water side, it will only be filtering the cold water. If your faucet isn't turned all the way to cold, that could mean unfiltered water is being mixed in with the filtered? Thinking of my kitchen sinks and the single faucet that controls both hot and cold from one handle.

Call them if you have any questions, stateside support and often it's their engineers who answer the phone. Cool company.

You shouldn't use the hot water for consumption if you have a water tank. Most anode rods are aluminium and all the sediment that builds up is nasty. Use cold water and heat it up.

Yes, only the cold is filtered. It would be a waste to filter hot water used for cleaning, dishwasher, etc.

Keep in mind that you should not be drinking hot water from the tap (unless you have a tankless water heater)
