i currently have the Alienware AW3418DW, im wondering if i should upgrade?
I have the same monitor and I opted not to upgrade because of two reasons. The PPI of our monitor is 109 versus this monitor at 96 PPI, personally this is deal breaker for me because I want more not less clarity. Second reason was the aggressive curve, our monitor has a curve of 1900 and this monitor is 800 which is a huge difference versus if it was larger and I would need a more aggressive curve to see the outer edges. Personally I'm eyeing the technology in LG 45GX950A-B, although quite expensive, I have hopes the PPI and tech trickles down to the cheaper models in time.

Want 5k2k one...
Yeah this size and resolution is less than ideal. I'm also waiting for a qdoled 5k2k in the 38-40" range for sub $500, might be a long wait but I'm happy with my current 2 monitor setup until then

Many folks generally don't recommend OLED monitors for office work. They suffer with text fringing issues (text appears fuzzy) and the ever present fear of burn in so I'd personally recommend IPS for office work.
Do you have one that you know this to be true? I do and my text is sharp as any LCD monitor and burn-in isn't an issue with the OLED-care functions built into the monitor. I don't game at all and I'd never go back to LCD monitors after using a 4K OLED. Maybe read up on what manufacturers are doing to minimize burn in. I don't know about you, but I do a bunch of tech reading and one thing I don't hear people complain about is their OLED monitors having a burn-in image after using it for normal work.

You're abusing their generous return policy that is designed for people who are TRULY not satisfied.

New tech comes out all the time.. This isn't rent-a-center. Other people are subsidizing your clownish behavior when you abuse their return policies. Do you think you're a genius exploiting a loophole by doing this? Anyone can do it. Difference is, most people aren't assholes enough to do it.

If I buy a TV in 2020, I expect it to have modern tech for like 3-5 years. I wouldn't dare try and return it so I can get a new TV like it's a loan program.
I really hope Costco cracks down on people like you and start enforcing a Social Security number to be a member or something. Just flat-out ban you and let us normal shoppers keep in peace.
Well said. These people are going to ruin it for the rest of us.

And waiting for the 57" to go to 1300 or lower at Costco. It got down to 1600 with like a 120 shopcard I believe.

Honestly, I don't like 800r even for gaming. It makes the monitor look smaller and you always notice the curve in game. It almost has a slight warping effect.
I have a 38" aw3821dw with 2300R and I like it. I saw the 57" G9 at the store with 1000R and thought that was way too curved. It's crazy this thing is even more curved!

Pulled the trigger. Fairly massive upgrade over my current monitor (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr...html/specs) after my Gigabyte M27KQM died I've been back and forth on buying a 42" LG C series, but this just seems like a better daily driver at my desk since the dimensions are more comfortable and my current PC isn't going to drive a 4k resolution amazingly anyways.

My only concern is the curve since I've never bought or used a curved monitor for any real length of time, so I hope that isn't what makes me end up returning it.

You are either lying or never used OLED.

What happens to the digital credit if we return the monitor? Do we get full refund if the digital credit is unused or will it be subtracted from the refund (I'm thinking the latter most likely)
If it's similar to the streaming credit you get by purchasing Sonos items, nothing will happen, you'll just get to keep the credit. I purchased both a Sonos Arc and Sub 3 on a past Costco deal. The Arc came with an $80 Apple Credit and the Sub came with a $70 streaming credit, IIRC. Something like that.

Right after I purchased them, they went on sale at AAFES (Military Exchange) for much cheaper, and no tax. I returned both to Costco as they obviously wouldn't price match, but still got both of the promo credits just the same. Then bought the Arc and Sub through AAFES for the cheaper price.

So, I'd say you probably get to keep the credit regardless. It did make me wonder though, because what's to stop people from just buying the items, claiming the credits, and instantly returning. I mean, if you do it too many times you'll probably get flagged, but just something I wondered about.

Haven't seen a roadmap for 5K2K QD-OLED in 34/39", but WOLED of this spec is supposed to be coming this Q4/Q1.

Just ordered this morning. UPS just notified me it's arriving tomorrow! Way faster then expected. Still rather have the pickup in store option though.

lol 4k OLED is plenty sharp, they are not lying. Some folks (not most, just some) have problems with 1440p OLED, but 4k is not an issue for almost anyone.
