Both of these used to be staggered. So, high use items could be purchased a few at a time rather than stocking up. Why is Costco doing this?

There are only 28 Costco Business Centers in the U.S. across 16 States. San Diego County has 2 of those 28 so it just doesn't impact that many Costco members. There are currently 629 Costco Wholesale Centers in the U.S. by comparison. For me personally, there are 4 Costco Wholesale locations within a 7 mile radius of my home. A Business Center is about 10 miles away.

4 Costcos in a 10-mile radius and 3 Costco business centers in a 25-mile radius here.

That's what I do, but with the Premier Protein Shakes. I usually try to end up with 10-15 boxes to last between each sale. My wife drinks a protein shake EVERY morning so that's 1 box every 18 days. $6 savings on every box can really add up.

Funny, I have a business center 2 miles away and 5 or 6 wholesale locations between 6 to 12 miles.

Costco likely stopped staggering these coupon events to simplify warehouse restocking and prevent people from clearing out shelves over multiple weeks. It's definitely annoying if you prefer to space out your purchases, but at least the Business Center locations are usually way less crowded than normal warehouses if you need to stock up. Just make sure to check their hours since they close earlier and are closed on Sundays.
