I don't understand why everyone here likes this brand so much. I looked up how repairable they are and they are about as unlikely to be repairable as any other cheap Chinese brand. All the parts are put in with a gazillion screws and wires, with you needing to take the thing almost entirely apart just to replace a specific motor. At least iRobot parts are all modular so you don't have to buy an entirely new vacuum bot every year when a wheel gets stuck.
I've had mine for 5 years and I have a Samoyed so this thing runs twice a day. I had to replace a motor a couple years back and it was no big deal, it came with the motor and whole wheel assembly. Parts are readily available on Amazon and AliExpress. This year I replaced the 5 year old battery which only took a couple minutes. In general the cleaning performance, pathing, mapping, object detection is better than anything iRobot has.

My revo had issues and nobody could repair it not even the insurance company dealers so I lost taxes and insurance premium within a few months.

Clearly you've never taken one of these apart, these are very simple to dissemble and reassemble and there's always plenty of videos on how to do so.

I wish they'd sell their maxv series though the ebay store, I haven't seen any. Looking for the best obstacle avoidance.

I just recently got a Q7 for $240 as part of Amazon prime days. I haven't used the mop function yet. The vacuum is quite good and the room mapping appears to be very accurate.

This allowed me to move my Eufy G32 pro upstairs. It's several years old and now very loud but still sucking. I've repaired it once and replaced the battery once.

I believe the Q7 is better overall and not just because it's newer. It's quieter than the G32 ever was ,cleans the carpets better and hasn't gotten stuck yet - the G32 tends to get in bad situations. I will be buying more Roborocks in the future.

As a user of an OG Q Revo, always buy the warranty, luckily this one comes with two years. I had the warranty through Amazon after mine for the last year was having issues charging after it gets back to the dock cause of the contacts corroding over time cause of poor metal choices. Outside of the charging issue its worked like a champ so for $300ish dollars not bad at all. Asurion provides the warranty for Amazon that I got and they suck though, it was easy to file the claim, but their warranty support service centers are a joke. I got the robot back within 7 days, they never provided any fix paper work, and they even lost a part I shipped with the robot, yet somehow completed the repair.... For the record the repair did not look complete as the contacts looked to be the same ones I sent in with the same damage on them. It took me over 6 phone calls and multiple two business day waits to fight with them, even being directly lied to by their service center manager, before it got escalated to the highest level and they authorized a check for the full amount I paid.

For this price the Q Revo is still a good pickup, the Q Revo Master is way overpriced.... Especially when you can get a brand new Yeedi for $700 with the extending self cleaning mop and high Pa, along with all the latest bells and whistles...

I get the warranty counting on that the parts either are no longer available in 3-4 years or the repair is too difficult and then I get my money back and in the above situation it worked out for me.

Look for the no tangle roller vacuums and high Pa and you should be good. I dont think any of these have the no tangle rollers, but can always check out a Q Revo and see how it works out.

I've had an S5 since 2019 and the only thing I've had to do is remove the bottom shroud to clean out some crap that accumulated after 5 years of 5-times-a-week running (though there were a LOT of screws). I used to do in-home product testing for iRobot and they couldn't function nearly as well as the S5 even though they were several years newer and higher end models. I never had any of the Roombas long enough to have to do any real maintenance so I can't really comment on the reparability or longevity, but Roborock are hands down superior products. The only reason I'm even looking at a new one is testing one of the Roombas with the autodock has really made me want to upgrade to a Roborock with one.

I've got original Qrevo from the last deal. It came brand new. It was a bit paint to connect one to WiFi. JFYI I had to create guest wifi spot dedicated for vacuum and it worked as a charm.

Yeah most of these smart devices only connect to 2.4 Ghz, so that could've been it. I connect all my "Smart" stuff to 2.4 and everything else to 5 anyway.

Not sure what you mean- I've had the Q5+ Pro for two years now and it is so much less maintenance than my Roomba J5. The j5 contantly has issues redocking, getting stuck on carpet, it can't see in the dark, it doesn't understand map boundries...and it even has a camera so you'd expect it to be able to navigate better. I have to put the darn thing back on the dock at least twice a week or fix something jammed.

I use my Q5 on our second floor and it has been about as automatic as you can get- it uses LIDAR and gets all of our bedrooms and hallways every day with little issue. I have to clean the rollers maybe once a month and it gets stuck on an errant towel maybe once or twice a month.

Filters, rollers, wheels, brushes...they both pop out and parts are easily accessible. If you're talking about repairing the motor, I'm not sure most people are ever going to experience that.

Have you? I don't own any of these to take apart. Maybe you could share some videos because I can hardly find any. Most only show basic maintenance (bin empty, roller cleaning and replacement). The few I have found shows you having to take out a gazillion screws on both the top and bottom of the robot just to get to a wheel replacement for example. And I think even the one I watched the wheel was basically attached to the chassis. I even see "security" screws on some videos that are probably used to void any warranty. Not a good look.

I have had a roomba 560 for 13 years that still works perfectly after replacing drop-in parts from ebay or irobot over the years. The modularity of those bots is amazing. Would these Roborock last as long? From reports I see online and in videos, doesn't look like it.

Granted, irobot bots are vastly overpriced considering the features they have, I just like my stuff to last.

LIDAR is kind of an older technology now. It used to cause them not to attempt going under couch skirts or low hanging curtains. Something a normal bot would have no trouble with.

Has this improved in recent LIDAR models?

Tempting though, we have a Bessel upright mop. I wonder if these mopping robots could replace it.
