It's not a bad deal but most of the knives are useless. The 8 inch chef's knife will handle 90% of your needs and a similar one was on sale during prime day for $45 bucks.

The $89-95 Zwilling Professional S set of 3 knives is the better buy for most.

Amazon Germany ($92) takes a few weeks but the knives are better balanced and have nicer handles: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000ACOV0?

I also have the 3 set of these Zwilling Four Star knives and they're not bad by any means but the grips are just okay, and balance could be better. If you're coming from Victorinox Fibrox Pro series knives, these are still a massive step of quality and steel, but if just need the essentials, go the Professional S for half the cost.

I am using the same set of 4 Star knives that my mother purchased 4+ decades ago. The Zwillings (twins) are all made in Germany. look for the 2 person logo.If you watch the Food Network a lot, many/most of the competition shows that provide full knife blocks are Zwilling 4 Stars.

Definitely J.a. Henckels Twin, great quality and still going strong with no sharpening for 7 years. We almost never use the 7/8 inch chef knife though as it is too big for cutting anything where most of the knife is not even touching food (instead, we are using a Japanese santoku 5.5 inch and it's perfect for cutting everything, except hard things like bones - definitely avoid). We use self sharpening steak knifes (serrated) (8 count) for cutting anything from avocado to steaks when we eat. Bread knife for bread and watermelon, etc. Never used the honing rod that comes with it and never needed to keep the edge, others will definitely disagree.
