Average price according to Camel x3 is $19.73.

It's been around this price since December 2024. Only for 1 day in June was it ever the $31.99 list price.

Just had some AAA eneloops leak in a device and ruin it. They were old but didn't get a lot of use.

Well, I've had eneloops kicking around for 6+ years in some devices without issues. All batteries can leak, but these are notoriously good rechargable batteries.

What kind of device? How old were the batteries? It is exceedingly rare for NiMH batteries to leak during their useful lifespan. Even when they do, it's usually very little, especially compared to alkalines. Also, it can generally be cleaned up with a little white vinegar.

I have a mix of 10, 9, and 1-year old Eneloops. I never have had any problems with any of them. I also have some Tenergy and Amazon rechargeable batteries that seem good and have held up for years. I'm starting to test coin cell rechargeable batteries, and so far, so good. Recently I got an oddball handheld electronic testing device that uses a 9v battery so I bought a highly reviewed 9v rechargeable with a USB-C port built in for charging, which is a first for me. Working towards having no single use batteries at all.

Eneloop is great, but there are great options out there, too, FWIW.

I'm on the same course. Wasn't even on my radar that rechargeable coin cells were a think, will need to check that out.
have been curious to try the 9vs with usb-c. Which one did you go with?
