This is the perfect steak searing pan for a standard kitchen burner. I have a similar one. If you use a 12 inch cast-iron pan on the large burner of a standard oven the 12 inch cast-iron pan turns into heat sink that dissipates much heat into the air as heat is entering the pan from the bottom via flames.This 10 inch cash iron pan with the rounded bottom let's flame heat hug the cast-iron as it wraps around it. This lets you get a strong seer. Not only is the initial surface sufficiently hot, the heat continues to throw through the pan quickly so a good crust can form.Google 'reverse sear ' if you wanna get your steak game up at home. Be sure to let the steak cool amply for 10 minutes after taking it out of the oven. Dry all moisture off the steak before searing. And add salt to the steak last seconds, right before you throw it on the cast-iron pan. (The other way is to brine the steak first, i dont). Good luck

Don't you want to know where the cast iron is manufactured that you cook your food on?.... If not, then move on.

If it was made in another country like China, France, or The USA (the other common CI manufacturers) I would mention them as well.

lol cast iron is literally the best type of material to cook on if you are worried about where it's from. It's literally just metal, you can strip it and reseason it or just turn up the heat for like 5 minutes and I promise you it will not have anything on it anymore. everything is made somewhere

Cast iron has been known to have been contimated with lead (and other metals)...so heating it up for 5 minutes wouldn't remove it.

Again if it doesn't bother you, than move on....more people today that choose Cast Iron over PTFE coated pans might care enough to know more about their cookware. All cast iron is not created equal.

Edit: Also China has bought alot of our used (scrap) metal that contains lead (among other things)....they melt it all down, and what guarantees are there that they won't be used in CI Cookware??
