If you don't need the ceramides to hydrate your skin, Dollar Tree has 1% hydrocortisone for $1.25 that works just as well for most, and I believe it's a larger size tube as well. As a regular Cerave lotion user, I don't see any point in getting this cream over generic or store brands of hydrocortisone. You're probably better off for cost effectiveness in separating out the skin moisturizing from whatever you're using the hydrocortisone for.

I don't presume to give medical recommendations to others, but can say for myself that I use it sparingly, not on the face, and in tandem with non-pharmaceutical stuff recommended by my doctor. Certainly, there are some scary stories of serious adverse reactions - to pretty much every over-the-counter or prescribed medicine on earth. Ibuprophen can increase the risk of stroke, also life-threatening gastric bleedling. Acetominophen can be deadly when taken concurrently with alcohol use. A medical consumer has to weigh risk against quality of life issues and the risks of alternative meds and therapies.

Or you can just say "NOPE DONT DO IT." I guess.

Friendly reminder to wash your hands really good after applying. I used some on some bug bites and must've rubbed my eye sometime after. Woke up with a blind spot on my retina. Healed by itself eventually but it took a few months and could have been much worse.
