Man, this thing has an unfairly bright/vibrant/large screen for the price it's not even fair. And build quality also feels weirdly high for the price. Performance is about on par with every sub-$80 device. Only con I can think of is the joystick is atrocious, and not everyone is a fan of micro-switch clicky buttons/D-Pad on it as some folks like the quietter/mushy membrane buttons even if they are much less precise.
I gifted mine as I own too many handhelds, but a stellar purchase recommendation for anyone wanting a great first horizontal handheld.

Should I buy this if I already have a modded 3DS?

What's mid on it? Looking at one seriously others here praised this model. Ty

The biggest negatives on the device are the lack of L3 and R3 buttons and also that the 16:9 aspect ratio isn't great for such a low powered machine as most of what you can play on it will leave a lot of unused screenspace.
It's really good for GBA and Portmaster games though.

I have one of these and it's great for GBA content. It's one of the best handhelds at this price point. I installed Port Master and it plays Balatro pretty well too!

Thanks. Do you think it's best around 50 or less?

I'd say it's worth it at this price. It's about what I paid and I was pretty happy with it before I upgraded to a more expensive device.
The screen's a higher resolution than other devices in the price range which helps old games look really good upscaled.

Thanks. Is there a big improvement in other devices in screen or emulator power in the next step up (say less than 100) category?

Yes. Best screen you'll find at this price point and entry level device besides maybe their Brick device.

Should you happen to learn how to find live tv m3u files and put them on the device (i think thy videos folder), you can watch live tv when connected to wifi.

one of the best entry handhelds under $100. for build quality alone. as others have pointed out personal preference might steer you away from the clicky buttons but as its my daily you get used to it.
