I just bought the pentagon shaped one for $100 on amazon. Watching for the 3 inch orbital too…
Also want that 5" fuel sander but they are just pushing the no fuel version super hard

What is the opinions on this... I want the M18 but I think the M12 will do enough for 85% of the jobs I want it for... is this a good deal?

I had a remodel going and left my m12 stuff lay around. Everytime I'd come by one if not both of the contractors had them in their hands when they had m18 stuff of their own piled everywhere. If it's something to grab for basic handyman work. It's sooo much easier for light work on wrist arms etc. yeahhh. I'd recommend it.

The m12 power & form factor is great, but my experience has been soured bc the batteries uncouple/ disconnect quite often (I suspect the clips weren't designed for the ever increasing power) I think I have gen3 impact and sawzall struggle the most.

I have the M18 multi and and got the M12 when it was on sale because I have a problem... I returned the M12 and here's why. First they're pretty much identical in size/weight based on my non-scientific "feel" test. Second, the feel of the M12 was just bad. Because the battery is inside the handle it's a fat circle where the M18 is oval shaped and feels better to hold. Lastly, the M18 has auto mode where it has soft start and ramps up the speed, the M12 doesn't have this. The M12 jigsaw does though, weird. It's a nice feature.
